I
was very pleased to come across this great paint job at whatifmodelers.com.
The aim of the site is to put the 'what if' into modeling. Taking
standard kits and adding weaponry and detailing to imagine how
things might have been had countries, conflicts and technology
aligned in a slightly different way.
The
pictures featured here are a look at David Smigielski's 1/48 Hasegawa
TF-104G built as an RAAF F-104AS.
What
I loved about this splinter camo design, apart from the striking
finish, was the precision masking that David has used. Look closely
and you can see the fine grey bordering to each splinter section.
This gives a beautifully crisp outline and adds to what is a stunning
what if.
Many
thanks to David Smigielski for the use of his photographs.
